Secrets of the “Big Payday”: How to Obtain Maximum Profits from Boot Camps & Seminars, Retreats, Conferences, Conventions, & Rallies

Boot camp. n. A multi-day event typically presenting advanced and/or specialized and/or exceptionally high value content in seminar and workshop sessions, often involving long hours (12 to 14 hour days), often presented by one main speaker and a supporting cast of multiple guest speakers. Usually priced from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 or more per day, said price reflecting unusual value and specialized nature of content. Positioned as a place to come prepared to do hard work, for serious learners (as opposed to events titles “conference,” “convention,” “seminar,” etc.)

A brief note for anyone interested in earning “big paydays,” on demand, by running high-priced boot camps, from Dan Kennedy:

“In the past 10 years, working with over 70 different information marketers, I have encountered only 3 who have functioned and sustained satisfactory profitability (so far) without having the periodic big pay-day of the boot camp or comparable event.

“On the other hand, there are a number of them who get 1/3rd to 2/3rds of their entire net profit for the year from 1, 2, or 3 such events, and everything leading up to them, beginning with their initial customer acquisition (typically, the sale of a “kit” product) is done at losses or break-even and minimal profits.

“As I pointed out when I was a guest speaker at one of Ken McCarthy’s SYSTEM seminars, even the INternet marketing gurus, teaching “the lazy way to riches” via the ‘Net are all putting on boot camps. (Wonder why.)

“Finally, it is easier to sell high-priced coaching programs in this environment than by other means; two of the most successful at doing do – Craig Proctor, Joe Polish – have their boot camps engineered from start to finish for that purpose. Some who stopped doing them, like Platinum member Reed Hoisington, have returned to doing them.”
